Message from BUREMBA ARCHDEACONRY

Buremba C.O.U started as early as 1928 with Late Amos Busaasi as the first catechist. In 1975, Buremba C.O.U was elevated to parish status following the gradual development of Anglicanism. It is recorded that Mzee Rubarenzya Christopher played a big role in the process of attaining parish status and Rev. Amos Turugurwa was appointed the first parish priest. In the year 2009, Buremba parish was elevated to an Archdeaconry status and Late Rev. Patrick Katonera was chosen and appointed the first Archdeacon. Currently, Rev Canon Stephen Mujuni  serves as the 6th Archdeacon of Buremba Archdeaconry.

Buremba Archdeaconry is composed of five parishes and they include: Buremba parish , Ngomba parish, Kabingo parish , Kyabahura parish, and Kitamba parish.

Greatly, I thank the heads of laity of all parishes for the tremendous work done for the sustainability and steady development of their respective parishes. On a special note, I thank Lay Can James Matagaizi for being a perfect Buremba Archdeaconry Head of Laity.

I also thank the Buremba Archdeaconry stakeholders for being responsible for their institution and projects. These include four primary schools and five church schools, Buremba Secondary School and North Ankole Technical Institute led by Rev. Gershomu Nuwemuhwezi.

Whole heartedly, I want to appreciate the families within Buremba Archdeaconry that contributed to the growth and development of this mighty Archdeaconry.

Extraordinarily, I take this opportunity to thank our Bishop Rt. Rev. Bishop Alfred Muhoozi for the holistic ministry as a lot has been achieved. Candidly, North Ankole Diocese under the leadership of Rt. Rev. Bishop Stephen Namanya has took a considerable mileage. Therefore, as Buremba Archdeaconry, we are so grateful to our beloved Bishops.

Lastly, I call upon all Anglican parents to open their eyes and always be alert in the upbringing of their children. This is because the world is totally in need of bringing them up in the knowledge of God.
