North Ankole youth ministry is under Mission department. The Vision of youth ministry is to make disciples and leaders devoted to God and distinct in social action.

This has been witnessed under the able leadership of our Bishops; Bishop Emeritus John Muhanguzi and Bishop Stephen Namanya. It was also supported by the then Dean Emmanuel Cathedral Rev Can James Hende, and it has also been supported by Lay Canon Emmanuel Bibaabwa Mission Coordinator, Ven Rev John Kurimwine the first Diocesan Youth Worker who was later followed by Ven Rev Kwesiga Emmanuel, Rev Robert Nabaasa and the current one Rev. Byamukama Ezekiel.

The growth of the ministry over the years is witnessed in Reaching, Raising and Releasing disciples. In Reaching, the ministry organizes Annual outreaches to universities, Monthly retreats, Weekly fellowships, sports (Bishop’s cup), Virtual Ministry, weekly radio services and annual youth Conventions. Days conceived that as generations of young people are equipped as earnest disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ and change agents, the impact carried back from conventions doesn’t only transform their lives but also impact Judiciary & Legal, Education and Academia, Faith & Religion, Media & communication, Family & Social, political & governance, Business & Economy.

Entertainment and Culture

The youth play a vital role in the Diocese of North Ankole, therefore investing in our Youth today is necessary in growing the body of Christ. Teaching the young people to grow in their relationship with the Lord prepares them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish. Serving young people cannot only prepare them to become future leaders, but can also guide them to contribute to the church more effectively. This is seen many times in the Bible, as God often used young people to do great things. For example, God used Timothy to pastor and lead the Ephesian Church when he was a teenager.

1Timothy 4: 12, says “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, ie conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. In addition, there is much to be learned from the faith of a child.

Matthew 18: 24 says “he called a little child to him, and placed a child among them and He said; “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.

Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. It’s important to recognize their value in today’s church The youth need guidance and support as they navigate through the most challenging part of their development and seek to grow in their walk with Christ.
